Chris Pratt spoke about his role in Jurassic World and also revealed a few plot details, in a recent interview with MTV.

After Pratt recently confirmed his involvement in the fourth film in the iconic franchise, he has been gradually giving away details about his lead role in the movie.

Pratt shared his excitement about getting the part in the MTV interview. He spoke about the time when the director of the film, Colin Trevorrow, hinted that he had landed the role.

"I sat down with him... and we just started getting excited about this. In the back of my mind, I was like 'Dude, this is going to happen," he said. "They want you to do this movie.' I remember him telling me, 'Yeah, they're not going to tell you this, but we want you to do it.' I was like, 'Buhhh. Really? Oh God. Really?'"

The Parks and Recreation star also spoke about his part, saying that he would have characteristics of both Jeff Goldbum and Sam Neill, both of whom starred in the original.

"He's got a little of both. He's got a little bit of the Goldblum cynicism, but also the Sam Neill excitement and the wonder of the biology of it all."

The new film will be a sequel and not a reboot according to Trevorrow. The director suggested that the film, which is now titled Jurassic World, wil be set 22 years in the future. The details came to light when a fan asked the filmmaker to confirm rumors about the film being a reboot.

The Jurassic Park films are based on Michael Crichton's series of novels about pre-historic beasts being revived by revolutionary gene technology. Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley are co-producing the film alongside Steven Spielberg, who directed the first two instalments in the franchise.

The film will hit theaters on June 12, 2015.
