John Travolta was hit by another lawsuit on Thursday together with his lawyer Marty Singer.

Travolta was sued for trade libel by Robert Randolph, the author of "You'll Never Spa in This Town Again," a book that details alleged encounters of Travolta with Randolph and others at bath houses.

Randolph claims that the press statements Singer made in response to detailed allegations in the book, seriously damaged his reputation.

Singer made the statements to Gawker.com in 2010 and said the book's claims were "blatant defamatory lies." Singer also said Randolph had spent time in mental institutions.

In the lawsuit, Randolph denies the claims and says they were damaging to the commercial potential of his book.

Travolta has called today's lawsuit "absurd."

"The lawsuit filed by Robert Randolph is absurd. The suit is based on a privileged communication, and it will promptly be thrown out by the court. To evaluate the credibility of Robert Randolph and his ridiculous lawsuit one need look no further than his own statements published on his website stating that he sustained ‘permanent brain damage’ and had to ‘retrain’ his brain," Travolta's rep said, according THR.

"Mr. Travolta will aggressively defend himself against this lawsuit and expects to be fully vindicated when this meritless case is dismissed," he added.
