Pop star Avril Lavigne recently released her music video for Hello Kitty, which has been receiving a lot of criticism lately.

Miley Cyrus Disses Avril Lavigne?

On Thursday, E! News posted the harsh words from critics like Billboard, who called the video a "trainwreck," and mentioned that the singer was "parading around with four identical, creepily expressionless Asian women."

There were also several tweets that accused the video of being racist to which Lavigne responded in her own tweet.

Avril Lavigne Rock N Roll VIDEO

"RACIST??? LOLOLOL!!! I love Japanese culture and I spend half of my time in Japan. I flew to Tokyo to shoot this video...specifically for my Japanese fans, WITH my Japanese label, Japanese choreographers AND a Japanese director IN Japan," she wrote.

Lavigne has made herself a massive sensation with her style that differs from the typical pop star, adding her own share of attitude crossed with visual effects and colors.

She started off with a more rocker style that made her more of a tomboy, but showed off more of a charismatic approach when she did videos for Girlfriend, Hot and several more. It might be safe to say that the singer has changed her image over the years while still keeping in touch with who she was when she first became a huge hit.
