Numerous rumors have been swirling about the highly anticipated blockbuster Man of Steel 2, a.k.a. Batman vs. Superman, including one that involves the possible death of Clark Kent's alter ego.

Jason Momoa Starring As Aquaman In Batman vs. Superman & Justice League?

A series of rumors have been compiled by MoviePilot.com, and while none of them have been officially confirmed, they at least give some food for thought as fans await the start of production.

One rumor claims that Metallo will be one of the film's primary villains alongside Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg). Metallo will contain within him a Kryptonian power source that actually leads to the death of Clark Kent, a.k.a. Superman (Henry Cavill). While this is a big move to make at only the second sequel, it is also rather unlikely considering a Justice League movie was recently announced.

Another rumor claims that Superman will mostly be in exile throughout the film. The rumor states that Batman (Ben Affleck) and Lex Luthor will be teaming up and pooling their funds to find Superman. Superman has gone into exile after the utter destruction of Metropolis at the end of Man of Steel. Lex Luthor essentially wants to take Superman out but Batman makes the decision to save him. By the end of the film, Superman is on the run again.

Meanwhile, Lois Lane (Amy Adams) takes it upon herself to investigate Lex Luthor, who may have taken over The Daily Planet, where she works.

While all of these rumors can be taken with a grain of salt, each of them would create a very interesting plot line as the DC Cinematic Universe expands.

Man of Steel 2 is scheduled for release in theaters on May 6, 2016.
