Falling Skies will continue to pit John Pope against the Mason clan, but this season he will be butting heads with someone other than Tom.

Berserker and notorious rebel, Pope's (Colin Cunningham) ideals are often at odds with those of Resistance leader Tom Mason (Noah Wyle) and the former criminal is about to find out that Hal (Drew Roy) is not so very different from his father.

Following the premiere's division of the 2nd Mass, Hal will presumably be far from his brothers and father when he turns to Pope for help. In a classic like-father-like-son scenario, TV Line claims the two men will come to blows when Pope refuses to join in on whatever plan Hal has up his sleeve.

If his scheme has anything to do with tracking down Ben, Matt, Tom, or Maggie, then Pope had better watch his back. There's almost no lengths the Mason boys won't go to when it comes to protecting their family.

Meanwhile, Pope will also be preoccupied by his burgeoning love interest, a newbie by the name of Sara (Mira Sorvino).

"She's a ballsy, brash woman with a complicated past. She proves to be a worthy foil - and ultimately a love interest - for Pope," said executive producer David Eick, according to TV Guide. "They have a classic love-hate dynamic."
