One of the stars of the upcoming comedy sequel Dumb and Dumber 2 has openly revealed that the film is "very silly."

Kathleen Turner, who is set to play Fraida Felcher, former love interest to both Harry Dunne (Jeff Daniels) and Lloyd Christmas (Jim Carrey), revealed via Belfast Telegraph that she did the film to be around Daniels and Carrey.

"Well, I love them both," she said. "Jim was in Peggy Sue Got Married years ago. And Jeff I've known through New York and theatre for years, although I don't think we've actually worked together long term, we've done some readings, things like that. They're both very fine actors and it was good to be with them. It's very silly, very silly."

Dumb and Dumber 2, which is being stylized as Dumb and Dumber To, features Lloyd and Harry going on another cross country road trip 20 years after the first film. This time, they are setting out to find the child of Harry and Fraida in order to take one of the child's kidneys.

Turner also explained why she chooses certain roles and movies to appear in:

"The script is always number one, but I think second to that would be the people because you know, I decided I'm too old to work with idiots any more, so it's got to be people I want to be with," she quipped to the Belfast Telegraph.

Jennifer Lawrence is set to play the younger version of Fraida, though it is expected to only be a cameo appearance.

Dumb and Dumber To is scheduled for release in theaters on Nov. 14.
