With rumors going viral that Alcide may be killed off from True Blood, his portrayer Joe Manganiello is talking about how how happy he is to have a new storyline on the hit HBO show for Season 7.

'True Blood' Star Joe Manganiello Named Hottest Bachelor

"I thought it was very one dimensional," Manganiello told Digital Spy about his character on the show. "There was a whole plot line that was cut from the show that dealt with Alcide and his father, played by Robert Patrick."

Manganiello admitted that for some of last seasons, Alcide wasn't a part of the main story lines.

"We switched show runners and one of the casualties was the loss of that storyline which I thought added balance, because without that storyline it came off as mindless yelling," he said. "Beating up a pack of girls? I'm a big guy, I just don't see how beating up a pack of 100lb girls is good. I just thought it was kind of crazy."

Manganello said he's happy now to be back working with the main cast like Anna Paquin (Sookie). "I was happy with season seven because I got to come back to the main cast and work with those people again, and felt like I was part of the show."

Although it may not be for long, there are rumors that Alcide may die this season. Hollywood Life reported that Alcide may be the next one to go on the hit show.

"In the books they have Alcide Hervaux still alive, but the books and the show have not always been the same, and this season will prove that point on multiple occasions with one of the big things being Alcide being killed," an insider told the website. "The show is going to be pretty crazy this season and there [are] going to be several significant deaths happening."

True Blood airs on Sunday night's at 9 p.m. on HBO.
