Carrie Underwood News; Country Singer's Sudden Return To Grand Ole Opry This Month Could Mean New Details On Upcoming 'Different' 5th Abulm [VIDEO]
In June, country superstar Carrie Underwood announced at The Grand Ole Opry that she is currently working on a new album. While her return to the Opry in July suggested that she might have been gearing up to reveal a few more details on the record, the star has remained tight-lipped on her latest material.
On Tuesday Underwood and the Grand Ole Opry announced via Twitter that the singer will be returning to the venue. "THIS JUST IN," read the statemented, "@carrieunderwood is coming back for TWO SHOWS August 19!"
Underwood first announced news of a fifth album at the Grand Ole Opry on June 3. "[It's] a different sound without losing myself in it," she told The Hollywood Reporter that same week, "I'm not taking some crazy musical departure from what I've done, but it definitely feels different. It will feel different, look different, and sound different."
The country singer returned to the Opry in July, though she chose to withhold any additional information on the record. Could her sudden return to the venue mean a change of heart? Is it possible the star is preparing to give a title or even a release date?
Originally Underwood was set to perform along the east coast this month before heading to Illinois and Colorado. The additional Opry performances will take place before Underwood heads to New York and Florida.
The final stop listed on her tour schedule is New York Citiy's Global Citizen Festival in Central Park on September 27.
