Audiences who went to see The Dark Knight Rises got a glimpse of the teaser trailer for the new Superman movie, Man of Steel, released by Warner Brothers and DC Comics. The short 1:33 minute clip that gives mere glimpses of Clark Kent, played by The Tudors actor Henry Cavill, shows the hero as a child sporting a t-shirt and red cape blowing in the wind, as a fisherman and then as a somewhat drifter dressed in rags and trying to hitchhike.

Warner Brothers released two different teasers, narrated by either Kevin Costner (who will play Jonathan Kent in the film) or Russell Crowe, but both offer the same images and end with Superman in full costume soaring into the heavens.

A longer version of the trailer previewed at this year's Comic-Con in San Diego and was later leaked online by a fan-based website, according to Examiner, but was later taken down by request of the studio.

In the trailer, Costner tells his adopted son how his superpowers will affect the world: "You're not just anyone. One day, you're going to have to make a choice. You'll have to decide what kind of man you want to grow up to be. Whoever that man is, good character or bad, is going to change the world."

Director Zack Snyder, the visionary behind Watchmen and 300, along with producer Christopher Nolan are taking on a superhero that has not been in theatres since 2006's Superman Returns. The film co-stars Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne and both Costner and Crowe.

The simple trailer has done enough to get fans excited to see their red and blue hero once more.

"Even without a look at Metropolis, the Daily Planet or Amy Adams as Lois Lane, that's enough to get any comics-movie fan at least interested (if not yet psyched) for a very new take on the Kansas-raised hero," according to Time magazine.

The film is set to be released in June 2013.
