Music stars Katy Perry and John Mayer broke up a good while ago, but someone managed to let out a small insult towards Mayer after his ex-girlfriend achieved something earlier this week.

Did Katy Perry Reveal Something She & John Mayer Had In Common?

On Sunday, Perry won a Video Music Award for Best Female Video. Basketball broadcaster Dick Vitale took this news to Twitter by adding in a picture of himself with none other than Perry's ex. The photo shows Vitale and Mayer hugging and smiling where all looked well, but the caption had a remark that could have easily put Mayer in his place.

"I wonder if my guy John Mayer was jumping with joy when his ex Lady Katy Perry won her VHA best female video," he wrote.

This tweet was deleted, but it can be seen on For The Win. It was replaced with the same image, but with a caption that was less belittling towards the "Daughters" singer.

"Katy Perry wins VMA as best female video/ yes I met her ex John Mayer after his concert. @ Red Rocks Colorado," Vitale wrote.

There is a good chance that the broadcaster noticed how his comment might have came off, which could be why he replaced it with something else.

Rumor currently has it that Perry may have moved on from Mayer with DJ Diplo ever since Perez Hilton reported that the two were spotted touching each other's hands at Seth Meyer's Emmy party.
