The truth about Ridge's (Thorsten Kaye) condition has led to a shocking move at Forrester Creations-but even Eric's (John McCook) decision to step down won't be the most scandalous thing to come out of it on The Bold and the Beautiful.

Eric Makes A Shocking Announcement

Eric's decision came after he learned that Ridge had lost his ability to draw following his accident in Abu Dhabi-and it will only serve to continue heating up the competition between Ridge and his younger brother, Rick (Jacob Young), as they both begin to vie for the role of CEO of the company. Right now, Rick believes he is the one favored to receive the position, and will use that to try and convince his father he is worthy.

"I'm older and wiser since the last time this came up," he says to Eric in a preview clip for the Friday, Oct. 10 episode.

Rick Demands Answers About What's Going On Between Ridge & Caroline

While Rick works his charms on his father thought, his brother will be trying to capitalize on the feelings Rick's wife, Caroline (Linsey Godfrey) has since formed for him as they've worked together on a line to his advantage-and try to convince her to side with him when it comes to fighting for the CEO position.

"You're asking me to turn my back on every promise that I ever made him," Caroline says in the clip.

"No, I'm asking you to be true to yourself," Ridge replies.

The Bold and the Beautiful airs Monday-Friday at 1:30 p.m. on CBS.
