Eric (John McCook) made a shocking decision to step down as the CEO of Forrester Creations, and his decision of who to leave in charge instead will lead to a major conflict with his son, Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) on The Bold and the Beautiful.

Eric Makes A Surprise Announcement

Eric believes his other son, Rick (Jacob Young) should be in charge since he was second-in-command as President of the company, but Ridge will try to make a case for himself-something that won't go over as well as he'd hoped.

"You don't play well with others Ridge," Eric says to his son in a preview clip for the Monday, October 13 episode. "You only want things to be the way you want them."

Ridge Asks Caroline To Make A Shocking Decision

"Well, I'm different now," Ridge replies.

Ridge will continue trying to make a case for himself as CEO because he believes only a designer can successfully run the company-something he is, while Rick is anything but.

"I know design, I know what it means to design something. That's what I'm doing with Caroline now," Ridge says.

And while his design partnership with Caroline (Linsey Godfrey) has been going well so far, the illicit kiss the two shared has put her in a strange place, as she is not conflicted between her husband and her brother-in-law-and her change in demeanor won't be lost on Rick.

"You seem on edge," he says to her in the clip.

"Do I?" she asks.

If she spills to Rick about the kiss, it could not only cost her marriage, but it could truly end any semblance of a relationship between the brothers as well.

The Bold and the Beautiful airs Monday-Friday at 1:30 p.m. on CBS.
