Gabby Douglas' hair has hit the headlines. That's right, her hair! Not her 2 Olympic gold medals, but her hair is what seems to be important to scores of judgmental viewers.

Douglas is celebrating helping the United States bring home its first Olympic gymnastics gold for Team USA since 1996 and has just won the all-around gold for her individual performance. However, rather than speaking about her energetic floor exercise or remarkable vault, or her TWO GOLD MEDALS, many people are choosing to talk about her hair.

Gabby Douglas Hair: "What's Wrong With My Hair?", Mom and Olympian React to Twitter Hair Comments

The 16 year old is only the second black American to ever make the United States' Olympic gymnastics team, and is also one of the most talented gymnasts to have graced American gymnastics. Yet instead of praising her and being proud many have criticized her hair-do.

@stephaniebabe93 tweeted, "I know every black female looked at gabby douglas' hair and asked Why? Just why?"

Some critics claimed that Douglas didn't properly represent the black American community because she had not taken best care of her hair. According to Yahoo News almost all of the criticism was coming from the black American community.

@MessyMeil said, "So for real though nobody wanted to go to London to do Gabby Douglas' hair?

@Kimehouse posted, "Gabby Douglas is cute and all...but that hair.......on camera."

Other Twitter users quickly came to her defense.

@SPmusik tweeted, "People busy talking about Gabby Douglas not having her hair done?? She's busy sweating & WINNING GOLD MEDALS.. you're on TWITTER. Right."

@theQueenParks added, "Gabby Douglas The First African American to Win the Gold Olympic Medal in the Women's All-Around, & all y'all can talk about is her hair -_-"

Whatever the disgraceful critics claim, a massive majority of Americans are proud of Gabby Douglas and when she returns to the United States she will be sure to get a hero's welcome, as well as be remembered in American sporting history as a top Olympian gold medalist.
