Justin Bieber is writing and producing music for Selena Gomez's next album.

Bieber is said to have played one of his girlfriend's unfinished tracks for Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am. The music producer, who has worked with Michael Jackson, Britney Sears, Rihanna and Justin Timberlake, described the song as "dope."

"He was like, 'Yeah, I wrote it for Selena.' It's great," will.i.am told Canada's New Music Live. "And it was really awesome. It was really, really dope."

A release date for the upcoming album has not been announced. According to The Hollywood Reporter it is expected sometime in 2013. Gomez's last album, "When the Sun Goes Down," peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard charts in 2011.

The former Disney star has recently agreed to appear in the upcoming film, "Parental Guidance Suggested." The 20-year-old will play the girlfriend of a character played by Austin Stowell. Nat Wolff, Dylan McDermott and Cary Elwes will also appear in the indie film.

Tim Garrick wrote the script and is set to direct the film.

The story is inspired by the novel "While I'm Dead ... Feed the Dog" by Ric Browde. The rock-n-roll coming-of-age story focuses on a teen's crush on the character played by Gomez.

Gomez last appeared in the film "Monte Carlo."
