The actor has now won an Oscar but could the next world Matthew McConaughey goes to be somewhere with the Guardians of the Galaxy?

In an interview with IGN on Tuesday, McConaughey talked about his interest in playing a superhero and said that it was a matter of the right part.

"It's not an area that I'm saying I wouldn't like to go. I don't know, it would have to be a script and character that I find interesting and one that I can say I have a personal experience with," he said.

Will The 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Ever Crossover With 'Star Wars?'

"I'm not thinking about a genre--I would really like to do this, or I wouldn't want to do that. Something finds me at the right time, turns me on, and if I can grab hold of it, see it from the inside, I can get a feeling that I can do this, that it would be original."

Cinema Blend looked at those quotes and speculated on Wednesday that it could mean McConaughey joining the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel as Adam Warlock.

The actor has previously spoken with Marvel about the role of Doctor Strange and while he didn't get it, the discussion could of opened up a possibility with the studio to use the actor in another role.

Warlock could work as it would allow McConaughey to either be a big character or a part of the team, which wouldn't require him to be apart of multiple movies. He would have a staple role in the Marvel universe but could also dive into other blockbusters and indies as he saw fit. It also gives him the interesting character that he seeks and one that could possibly warrant a spin-off.
