Fifty Shades Of Grey Movie: Selena Gomez Finds Racy Book 'Spicy' and 'Intriguing'
Selena Gomez has been in the midst of parlaying her newfound maturity into more adult roles and away from the Disney set she started off on.
When the 20-year-old actress played a part in a July "Funny or Die" spoof of "Fifty Shades of Grey," buzz began to swirl that she was interested in nabbing a part in the highly- anticipated movie.
However, Justin Bieber's main squeeze admitted in June that she had originally known next to nothing about the racy premise, according to The Huffington Post:
"I started to read it and was like, 'oh this is spicy.' I thought it was good, it was intriguing," she confessed.
The once Disney actress is currently set for a main role in the upcoming 2013 flick "Spring Breakers," which is rated R. Gomez will co-star alongside former "High School Musical" standout Vanessa Hudgens and James Franco from "127 Minutes" amd "Rise of the Planet of the Apes."
The story revolves around four college girls who decide to rob a fast food establishment in order to cover their spring break expenses. The movie is currently slated to be in competition at the 69th Venice International Film Festival in Italy.
The Texas native spoke to MTV in June regarding the rated R film, directed by Harmony Korine.
"People will be a little shocked, I think. I'm a little nervous about it, but honestly it's a right step for me. I'm really proud of it," Gomez stated.
