A Blake Shelton fan got a bit out of hand this week and caused an incident which resulted in a flight diversion over the midwest.

A flight from Atlanta to Los Angeles on Dec. 25 was forced to land in Albuquerque after a passenger couldn't keep a Shelton song to himself.

According to KWCH12 on Monday, the Wichita-native was singing Boys 'Round Here on the place at a disruptive volume.

A number of passengers complained and the singing man, who believes their complaints were racially motivated, became upset. He began to cry and left his seat a few times to go to the bathroom, which made the crew uneasy. He made multiple references to Eric Garner's death in New York earlier this year, which also concerned the crew.

Eventually the pilot decided to land in Albuquerque and remove the man, who had continued to make a scene, from the plane. The passenger was forced to find a different airline in order to make it to Los Angeles.

During the time of the incident, Shelton himself was cozy in Tishomingo, Okla. with wife and fellow country artist Miranda Lambert. They spent a quiet Christmas at home drinking and relaxing before Shelton had to board a plane of his own.

The country star flew to New York this week to perform for friend Carson Daly's New Year's Eve show on NBC Wednesday night.
