Prince Harry's grandfather has created a nude scandal of his own.

When Prince Philip joined his wife, Queen Elizabeth II, at the Highland Games in Scotland on Sept. 2, he was photographed sans underwear with the Scottish kilt he wore.

The photo of Prince Philip is an up-skirt shot of the 91-year-old sitting at the Games for his second public appearance since he was hospitalized for a bladder infection last month.

Prince Philip, also known as the Duke of Edinburgh, has been in and out of the hospital for a recurring bladder infection since June. The illness forced him to miss the end of the Diamond Jubilee, which celebrated his wife's 60th year on the throne.

The partial nude photo made its debut two weeks after his grandson, Prince Harry, caused a royal scandal when two photographs of the prince naked in a hotel room went public.

Prince Harry and his entourage met young ladies at the hotel's bar on the ground floor and invited them up to the prince's room. Things got wild once the group started playing strip pool, which quickly escalated into full-on nudity. It was reported that one of the ladies took pictures of the prince in his birthday suit with her mobile phone. The photos were later sold and first published on TMZ on Tuesday, Aug. 21.

The royal family confirmed that it is indeed the prince in the photos, however, a rep for the royal family told TMZ, "We have no comment to make on the photos at this time."

Although an official statement regarding Prince Harry's incident has not yet been released from St. James' Palace, the royal family has hired a law firm to send out letters to British media, asking them not to publish the photos.

Harbottle & Lewis, a London-based law firm, sent legal letters banning the printing of the photos to all U.K. newspaper companies on Wednesday, Aug. 22. Regardless, several British newspapers have already published the photos and another created a mockup featuring a newspaper editor standing nude and covering his private parts with a topless intern beside him.

A Facebook group was started the day after Prince Harry's photos leaked to support the royal. Titled "Support Prince Harry with a Naked Salute," the page encourages fans to post naked photos of themselves to show they are still a fan of the prince.
