The second installment of Showtime's Penny Dreadful hasn't even begun and already it looks like actor Josh Hartnett might be planning for a third season.

Ethan Chandler & Caliban Could Be Getting Ready To Fight On 'Penny Dreadful'

The 36-year-old actor, known for keeping a low profile, recently put his Minnesota home up for sale. According to the Daily Mail on Jan. 22, the actor had owned the property for 12 years and is selling the place for $2.39 million. Apparently, the plan is to be spending less time in that part of the country.

Hartnett has been known to spend a great deal of time in Dublin, where Penny Dreadful is filmed, and seems to enjoy the lay of the city. He's often been spotted roaming the streets and hanging around with his actress girlfriend, Tamsin Egerton.

While Cast Coming Together For Epic Scene On 'Penny Dreadful' This Season

So is the actor anticipating a third season? Or simply looking for a change? Famously private, Hartnett has primarily tried to stay out of the spotlight when it comes to his personal life. While it's unlikely that he'd make a move to somewhere flashier, it is possible that the move would be motivated by work or family.

Hartnett's character will have his hands full on Penny Dreadful this season. Hartnett charmed audiences during season 1 as Ethan Chandler, a loyal, sharpshooting American with a secret. While his werewolf origins were officially revealed during the finale, creator John Logan has assured fans that the history behind his abilities will be expanded upon in the coming episodes.

Penny Dreadful returns on Showtime for a second season on April 26 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
