When Mayer split from his on-again, off-again girlfriend, Katy Perry, early last year, rumors swirled regarding his alleged infidelities. However, the pair is now said to be back on -- and getting serious.

"As soon as John called Katy, she went running back to him. He swears he’s a different man now and feels ready to commit," an insider told Britian's Now Magazine, according to a report by Malay Mail Online on Sunday. "He always loved Katy, but was afraid to take the next step. Now he’s even been talking marriage and children.”

Perry and Mayer began dating in the summer of 2012, but split a short time later. While their romance was brief, the pair didn't waste much time getting back together. In fact, within a few months, Perry and Mayer were back on and dodging engagement rumors.

In recent years, Mayer has been accused of being a player, courting such A-listers as Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston, but now, he has allegedly had a change of heart. He's even reportedly seen a therapist to address his commitment issues.

“He took that time to focus on himself and figure out why he can’t commit. He even sought professional help."

Rumors regarding Perry and Mayer's latest go-around began earlier this year, after the pair were spotted together in Beverly Hills, Calif.
