Throughout the summer, many have been buzzing on just who they feel would make the perfect Anastasia Steele character in the movie version of E.L. James' "Fifty Shades of Grey."  Turns out Pretty Little Liars' Lucy Hale would like to be considered for the role.

According to Wet Paint, the 23-year-old had the following to say regarding the racy read and the possibility of being a part of the highly anticipated movie.

"I'm definitely a huge fan of the books.  Obviously I'd be thrilled to be a part of it," but I think it's in the very beginning stages of it all."

Hale had also spoken to MTV News on June 28th about transitioning into more mature acting roles.

"I definitely am ready to take a step and do something a bit more risky, absolutely, but it's a fine line.  I don't know what that fine line is, but I'm definitely ready to explore a darker side of my acting abilities," she had said.

When queried on her fans' feedback for the Anastasia Steele character, Hale dished on their overall thoughts.

"People have said that, but people have also said [I could play] the little sister, which I think could make sense, because I look a little young for Ana, but God, what a big role to take on.  I'm really curious to see how it's all going to [play out]."

Up until this point, E.L. James and the producers attached to the future film version of the mature novel have remained tight-lipped on the casting process.  However, only time will tell who ends up with the highly-anticipated role of Anastasia Steele and also who will play billionaire Christian Grey.

Hale can currently be seen on ABC's "Pretty Little Liars," which will resume its third season on Oct. 23rd.
