On Wednesday, Sept. 12, Nick Lachey and Vanessa  Minnillo welcomed a new edition to their family: their first child, son Camden John Lachey.

"We are incredibly proud to announce the birth of our beautiful baby boy, Camden John Lachey. Born today at 6:54 pm," the star couple told Us Weekly. "He came into this world at 8lbs 9oz and 21 inches. Love has truly been redefined for both of us."

The "Wipeout" host, 31, and 98 Degrees singer, 38, have been looking forward to their baby's arrival since they announced Minnillo's pregnancy in March.

The couple got married in Necker Island on July 15, 2011. It was Minnillo's first marriage and Lachey's second-marriage; he was married to Jessica Simpson from 2002 to 2005 and shared their lives with MTV viewers on the show "Newlyweds."

Lachey has been giddy about his baby's impending arrival.

"The nursery's ready, we got the stroller, we got the car seat. Now it's just emotionally figuring out what we do, and I don't think that ever ends," Lachey told Us Weekly over the summer. "I've assembled a couple strollers at this point and I'm pretty confident. If my brother [Drew Lachey] can handle putting in a car seat, I feel like I have a pretty good chance. If he can do it, anyone can do it!"

Lachey and Minnillo have also been eager to start a family.

"I can't even explain how excited I am," Lachey told People magazine in August. "For someone who has wanted a family for such a long time, I've looked forward to this moment. Now that it's almost here, it's awesome."

However, don't expect Minnillo to slow down anytime soon. She told People magazine in early 2011, "I would love to have children and work. I definitely don't want it to slow me down. I'm always going to be, 'Go, go, go.' "
