'Gangnam Style' 'Today' Show Performance: Psy rocks NYC [VIDEO]
South Korean superstar Psy, who took the United States by storm with his hit "Gangnam style" appeared Friday morning on the "Today" show to perform.
The "Gangnam Style" is unstoppable around the world. It's music video has over 166 million views on YouTube since it was uploaded two months ago. Before, the South Korean rapper was only famous in his country and among K-Pop fans but in the last month he has made appearances at major entertainment spots in the U.S. including the MTV Video Music Awards 2012 and the Ellen DeGeneres show.
This morning, he put the "Today" show cast to dance the "invisible horse" choreography that goes with the song, except for Matt Lauer who didn't appear in the segment. Al Roker and Natalie Morales were the most fun to watch, Savannah Guthrie didn't quite get the moves but she made her effort.
Psy tells his fans to "Dress classy, dance cheesy."
The song reportedly makes reference to Seoul's upper-class lifestyle. The lyrics of the track are reportedly about an ideal girlfriend who knows exactly when to act civilized and when to get wild.
A big crowd from all cultural backgrounds was seen this morning outside the Rockefeller Center in New York City but the majority appeared to be Koreans.
