New information is becoming available on the death of Johnny Lewis.

Lewis, an actor who had a supporting role in the TV show "Sons of Anarchy," was found dead on Wednesday, Sept. 26, in a Los Angeles neighborhood.

Lewis went on a suspected rampage by attacking his neighbors, killing his landlord and her cat. His body was found in the driveway outside the home of Catherine Davis, the elderly landlord. The autopsy for Davis showed a combination of blunt head trauma and manual strangulation. Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Officer Cleon Joseph reported to Fox News that Davis's home was found ransacked.

The actor had a troubled past with heavy drug use.  Lewis's family told TMZ that drugs were the reason he suffered a "psychotic break" from what used to be a "mentally healthy" person.  The actor's personality changed quickly and a clear diagnosis was never reached by doctors on his unstable condition.

Lewis went to rehab and was released from jail on September 21. His probation officer reportedly showed concern over the actor's mental stability after he got out. He stated, "The defendant suffers from some form of chemical dependency, mental health issue and a lack of permanent housing. Given this, (Lewis) will continue to be a threat to any community he may reside."

The investigation continues as to whether Lewis's rampage was fueled by any type of drug.

There's also now a link between the actor and the Church of Scientology. Michael Lewis, father of the actor, works at a counseling center that uses Scientology teachings as well. TMZ reports that the late Lewis was involved in the church's drug abuse program.

Since the incident has occurred, the Church of Scientology has removed pictures of Lewis from the drug program's site.
