Actress Stacey Dash, known for her roles from the 90′s hit "Clueless" to VH1's "Single Ladies" has caused a firestorm on Twitter after she announced her endorsement for Republican nominee Mitt Romney.

"Vote for Romney. The only choice for your future. @mittromney @teamromney #mittromney #VOTE #voteromney," Dash tweeted on Sunday, Oct.7 on her official Twitter page, @REALStaceyDash.

The tweet was accompanied by a photo of Dash wearing a sexy swimsuit in front an American flag.

Dash, 46, is the first celebrity of color to publicly support the Romney campaign.

Dash's followers who are Obama supporters immediately expressed their disappointment with her choice on Twitter.

"Romney's camp are probably desperately trying to find famous black ppl to endorse them. I can't believe Stacey Dash let herself be used." tweeted @Blessedsoul143

Fellow Romney supporters showed their support for Dash by tweeting their comments with the hashtag #ISupportStaceyDash.

"#ISupportStaceyDash for voting with her brain and not her skin color. #Mitt2012....If You SUPPORT STACEY DASH" tweeted @Blackrepublica

Dash responded to her critics with, "My humble opinion... EVERYONE is entitled to one."

"Women have had enough of @BarackObama's disappointment. We need new leadership to get our economy growing again..." Dash tweeted.

Dash quit her last job, VH1's "Single Ladies" after just one season in August, 2011.

The move came as a surprise to the fans of VH1's first big scripted show. The show averaged 2 million viewers per week and its success led to its second season on air.

Dash in a statement said she missed her family while shooting in Atlanta last year.

"I have to be back in L.A. with my children right now and the 'Single Ladies' shooting location [in Atlanta] makes this impossible," Dash said in a statement to GlobalGrind in late fall. "I wish VH1 the best of luck with the show in maintaining the strong fan base we developed in Season 1."
