Mindy Kaling's older brother Vijay Chokal- Ingam opened up about his experience posing as an African American student to get into medical schools, and apparently his sister isn't too happy about his decisions.

In his blog, Almost Black, Chokal-Ingam, recalls his decision to change his appearance in order to get into school and now he's speakig out about his plan plan to write a book and he says that none of his family approves.

"My sister Mindy Kaling (Vera Mindy Chokalingam), of the Mindy Project and Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?, strongly disapproves of my book," he wrote.

"She actually said, 'This book will bring shame on our family.' The rest of my family does not agree with the book. Still, they respect my right to make my own decisions with my career," he added.

On Monday, the Daily Mail UK reported that Chokal-Ingam says that he become a serious contender at some of the country's best medical schools including Harvard, Columbia, UPenn and more.

"I was determined to become a doctor and I knew that admission standards for certain minorities under affirmative action were, let's say... less stringent?" wrote Chokal-Ingam. "I got into medical school because I said I was black. The funny thing is I'm not."

He claims that he changed his appearance and became so unrecognizable that even his fraternity brothers couldn't recognize him.

Kaling's brother says that he shaved his head and cut his long eyelashes and even joined the Organization of Black Students during his transformation. 

Chokal-Ingam says that he was only accepted to St. Louis University School of Medicine because he claimed he was black. The actress has yet to speak out about the story, so be sure to check in for more updates.
