Katie Holmes has told friends that while she isn't ready to get back in the dating game just yet, she could see herself with someone new soon.

Holmes had a high-profile split from ex-husband Tom Cruise this summer, and insiders say the 33-year-old actress is finished with dating other actors, but she's getting closer to being ready to pursue other men.

In addition to Cruise, Holmes has also had relationships with other actors including Chris Klein and her "Dawson's Creek" co-star Joshua Jackson.

"Katie doesn't want to tie herself down just yet, but she says she's done going out with actors," a source said. "Her previous relationships with Joshua, Chris and Tom didn't work out, so she thinks she should look away from her own profession."

Holmes has reportedly enlisted the help of some of her girlfriends to introduce her to men outside the acting world. One such friend is Jeanne Yang, Holmes' fashion business partner, who wants to introduce Holmes to single artists.

"Jeanne has taken Katie to some art gallery openings recently and she's met tons of interesting artists. She's been saying now that if she does date anyone, it could be someone who works in the arts world," the insider said. "Katie's more interested in the quiet life now, and an unassuming artist would fit the bill perfectly for when she's ready."

Despite Holmes' word to friends that she is done with actors, recent reports have claimed she has been in touch with her ex Chris Klein, though as more of a friend to lean on than a romantic interest. Still, the pair has reportedly kept their interaction quiet.

"She is very sensitive about not embarrassing [Tom Cruise], so she and Chris have been incredibly careful not to be seen together. When he visits, he goes into the building through the underground car park to make sure that nobody spots him," the source said.
