Buzz over the film adaptation of E.L. James' "Fifty Shades of Grey" continues to circulate over who'll ultimately land the role of the S&M-crazed billionaire Christian Grey.

Stephen Amell of CW's "Arrow" is the latest actor to be brought up on the Internet amid a slew of other high-profile potential suitors for the notable role.

Although it's not the Red Room of Pain, Amell does don the part of a superhero with a top-secret training facility in his television series. To top it off, the 31-year-old's character in "Arrow" also possesses some striking similarities to the "Fifty Shades" character of Grey. Much like Grey, Arrow is a good-looking and wealthy individual who had a rough past, which led to his secret life.

According to LOOK, Amell is seemingly intrigued with the potential prospect of playing the explicit role of Grey.

"I mean if you think about it, it would be four movies, the last part being two parts.  I don't even own a house yet.  So I don't think that I'd be turning that down any time soon," he said.

Other candidates for the main role include "Gangster Squad's" Ryan Gosling, "Man of Steel's" Henry Cavill and "White Collar's" Matt Bomer, amongst many other well-known actors.

The sexually charged "Fifty Shades of Grey" story revolves around a recent college graduate named Anastasia Steele who gets herself caught up in a dominant and submissive sexual relationship with the rich and kinky Grey. Through an "agreement," they both delve into the world of bondage and masochism.

Up until this point, James and her producers attached to the future flick have remained relatively coy on their casting approach. Only time will tell who ultimately walks away with the highly-anticipated part of Grey and just who will play his sexual partner Steele.

Earlier in the year, Focus Features and Universal Pictures had purchased the rights to the "Fifty Shades." The racy, erotic novel has now sold over 20 million copies and counting.
