She officially declared her love for girlfriend Annie Clark last month, and now, following protests against the same Vogue interview which seemed to suggest that her bisexuality was a phase, Paper Towns star Cara Delevingne is speaking up.

Cara Delevingne Officially Leaves Modeling Behind

The former model opened up about being in love with Clark, who goes by the stage name St. Vincent in the contested interview, but the way things were worded in the piece led to protests on line that claimed the magazine suggested that Delevingne was just going through a phase. Now, in a follow-up with The New York Times, Delevingne is speaking up.

"My sexuality is not a phsae. I am who I am," she said in the new interview, though she noted she didn't believe there was anything malicious in the previous article.

Delevingne also noted how being in love like she is now has helped her with her career as an actress, which has steadily grown over the past year and is set to potentially explode with the release of Paper Towns next week.

"Being in love helps, you know? If you're in love with someone, you can be with them like no one else is in the room. Acting is like that. It's like taking that feeling and turning it on so nothing else matters when you're looking in another actor's face," she said.

Delevingne's romantic exploits have been well-documented since the start of her rise to fame a few years back. She was rumored to have dated One Direction's Harry Styles for a time, and was confirmed to be dating Fast and the Furious actress Michelle Rodriguez last year. Prior to her relationship with Clark, she was also linked to her Tulip Fever co-star Jack O'Connell.
