Hayden Panettiere was involved in a car crash in Nashville last month and though she came out uninjured, she reportedly is responsible for running a red light, which may have been a key factor in the two cars hitting into each other, according to TMZ

The official police report had stated that Panettiere, 23, was driving her BMW in the right lane through an intersection when another car, a Geo Prizm, drove into her. Instead of driving into the left lane, the other car drove straight into the actress's lane, causing the crash. Both parties were uninjured but both cars were towed away.

However, according to TMZ, a witness said that the "Nashville" actress drove through a red light at the scene as the crash took place on Nov. 14. The website noted that the witness also told police that the crash may have been prevented if Panettiere did not run the light.

The actress has not addressed any rumors of her being responsible for the incident. Following the event, she posted on Twitter: "Thank you to the Nashville police department. Was in a scary accident and they were great!"

The ABC television series "Nashville" aired in October and is the reason why Panettiere is in Tennessee. She plays an up-and-coming singer, Juliette Barnes, forced by her record label to team up with 40-year-old singer Rayna James (played by Connie Britton), who is still trying to maintain her footing among the younger talents rising up in the business.

Panettiere denied rumors that her television character is based on country singer and Nashville native Taylor Swift.

"I've heard the Taylor Swift thing quite a bit. And I think aside from being around the same age and blonde, we're very different," Panettiere said. "I really think Taylor would disagree wholeheartedly as well. She's much nicer than my character!"
