Various media outlets have reported that the two have a lot in common these days, following their respective divorce announcements. Shelton and Lambert announced they were divorcing after a decade together and four years of marriage on July 20. The two have spent time together the last few weeks as well, as they've filmed on their hit NBC show, filming the blind auditions a few weeks back and beginning to work on battle rounds in the upcoming weeks. As such, producers are reportedly hopeful that the media attention surrounding both will bring in an even bigger audience-which begs the question whether or not the two will be forced to grow closer during their mutual heartbreaks for ratings gold.

"With both Gwen and Blake recently divorcing and being single for the first time in a long time, ratings are going to soar!" sources said.
