Gossip website TMZ published photos of Justin Bieber at a party that have since led viewers to believe that the 18-year-old was smoking marijuana along with other underage partygoers.

On Jan, 4, images of the "Beauty and a Beat" singer went viral, showing him in a Newport Beach hotel "clutching a smoldering blunt at a big party." Sources at the party said the pop singer's friend Lil Twist, 19, was also present, and the rapper along with his brother rolled up marijuana joints that they passed around. "Everyday growing and learning. Trying to be better. U get knocked down, u get up. I see all of u. I hear all of u. I never want to let any of you down. I love u."

"I'm ready. We are ready. See u all tomorrow and everyday after that," he continued. "Back on tour tomorrow. Ready to see u all smile. Time to do what I'm supposed to be doing. Performing."

A paparazzi photographer died on Jan. 1 after trying to take photos of Bieber's Ferrari. The TMZ story about Bieber allegedly smoking commented on a connection between to the incidents, saying, "and it's pretty obvious ... Bieber wasn't feeling too bad about the whole situation."

Lil Twist, 19, was driving Bieber's car at the time of the accident. Bieber was not present but nevertheless, he expressed his condolences in a statement to Us Weekly. The pop singer said that "while he was "not present nor directly involved with this tragic accident," his "thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim."
