Bieber, Gomez Split: Relationship 'Just Isn't Working,' Source Says
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez reported broke up following a New Year's holiday vacation in Mexico filled with disagreements and a source said the on-again off-again couple is this time separated for good.
An onlooker saw them arrive together at an airport in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, on Saturday, Dec. 29. However, a source "especially close" to the 18-year-old "Beauty and a Beat" singer said the pair fought in Mexico on Dec. 30 and broke up.
"The two of them flew to Mexico for New Year's Eve, but had a blow-out argument on December 30 and broke up," the source said. "Selena left Mexico that same day and Justin left for L.A. on the 31st. They haven't seen each other since and she was never at the Four Seasons on New Year's Day."
The specific reason for the split, and what the alleged arguments in Mexico were about, have not been reported but another source told Radar Online that after going back and forth with fighting and reconciling for "a long time," they maturely decided the relationship could no longer work.
"They love each other and will always care about each other, but it just isn't working between them," a source told Radar Online. "This might really be it for the two of them. They're over going back and forth... They're finally realizing that no matter how much they try to make it work, it won't right now.
"So they ended it. Selena is Justin's first love and he's still young enough that he desperately tries to make it work," the source added. "But Selena is mature enough to just know when to end it and be realistic that it isn't working."
A different source confirmed that the couple has had trust issues in the past, with Gomez not liking who Bieber has been talking to and spending time with. Someone close to both stars said, "The problem in the first place is that Selena was a little bit of a jealous girlfriend and Justin wasn't really taking her feelings into regard."
