There may finally be some good news for fans of Blue Mountain State who have been patiently waiting for the film to be released.

Will 'Blue Mountain State' Ever Be Released?

Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland, which is set to pick up with Thad Castle (Alan Ritchson), Alex Moran (Darin Brooks), Sammy (Romanski) and more sometime after the story of their lives ended when the TV show was canceled, has been delayed for the better part of a year after it was initially supposed to be released, with no real explanation as to why.

There has been some indication that the distributors, Lionsgate, were holding off on releasing the film and the trailer, though no reason was provided for why such a thing was happening. However, it appears that negotiations may be opening up again, with the goal of releasing the film as the final product.

Are Fans Starting To Believe That The 'Blue Mountain State' Movie Is A Sham?

In an update to his Twitter account, Ritchson revealed he was going in for a meeting with Lionsgate to discuss the movie, and his outlook seemed positive about what would happen during the meeting.

"Today is an exciting day! Going in to @lionsgatefilms to talk all things @BMStheMovie!" he wrote Dec. 10.

Ritchson has not updated again since, however, so it is currently unclear if progress was made concerning the film's release date and a trailer being dropped.

The film is supposed to pick up after the show left off, in Alex and Sammy's junior year at Blue Mountain State. The TV show lasted for three seasons on Spike TV before it was canceled.
