Steve Martin's Baby with Anne Stringfield, Actor Becomes Father at 67
Actor Steve Martin became a first-time father at the age of 67 after his wife Anne Stringfield welcomed a baby in December, the New York Post reported Wednesday.
The couple of nearly six years have been spotted nearby their Los Angeles home with their new child, though it has not been confirmed by reports whether they had a boy or a girl.
"They've had a baby, and how they kept it a secret nobody knows," a source said. "Steve's very private...They are thrilled. They worked hard to have the baby."
Martin and Stringfield, 41, married in July of 2007 at the actor's home in a surprise ceremony. Guests, including Tom Hanks and Diane Keaton, were told they were at a wedding once they were at the party. Approximately 75 guests were in attendance at the ceremony presided over by Bob Kerrey, the former Nebraska senator and attempted 1992 Democratic presidential candidate. Martin's best man was creator of Saturday Night Live Lorne Michaels.
At the wedding Martin was sporting his Inspector Clouseau mustache, grown out for his role in the Pink Panther sequel that was set to start filming that August. Stringfield wore a Vera Wang gown.
Martin was married to Victoria Tennant from 1986 to 1994. They were costars in 1984's All of Me and 1991's L.A. Stories.
