The Ben Affleck-directed Argo is now reportedly a shoe-in to win the Oscar for Best Picture at the festivities on Sunday night and allegedly has a 93 percent chance of doing just that.

According to Predict Wise, a website that generates predictions, aggregates and analytical data, the CIA flick is heavily favored to be victorious at Sunday night's Academy Awards show in Los Angeles, Ca.

However, the respective film is only the frontrunner in the Best Picture award pool and could very well become the seventh nominee to win without a Best Director trophy.

A few months back, when Argo was about to launch on the big screen, he didn't care to keep tabs on the massive amount of speculation for either of the two top awards, according to Dawn.

"When you work for as long as we all have on something like this, the focus is just on the audience coming to see it. Otherwise, you're just a tree in the woods."

David Rothschild, an economist over at Microsoft Research, had the following to say about the sudden changes in the award show's dynamic that have taken place going forward to Hollywood's biggest show of the year:

"As the awards show really coalesced around a few people in major categories we saw a major shift and it was fun to see how that progressed," he said.

"'Zero Dark Thirty' moved down a little bit. 'Lincoln' stabilized. We saw 'Argo' especially for best pictures and best adapted screenplay shoot up," Rothschild continued.

Interesting to note, it was pointed out by writer Erin Carlson of The Hollywood Reporter how "everyone predicted that "The Artist" was going to win - and it did."
