Selena Gomez posed for two different cover looks for Harper's Bazaar's April 2013 issue and in her interview with the magazine she talked about her attention-grabbing past relationship with Justin Bieber and how she now feels about love.
The 20-year-old former Disney star in one shot wears a white Calvin Klein dress while holding a bloomed-flower-inspired umbrella. In the second look she sports a orange-and-white striped shirt by Dolce & Gabbana. The Spring Breakers star opened up about the scrunity her and Bieber received while they were dating, being at the center of the media frenzy.
"It was, but that's not a factor for me because unfortunately you can't control that," she said. "To me, love is normal."
She mentioned Jay-Z and Beyonce's relationship and how people think they are are perfect for each other but "at the end of the day their love is just like everybody else's love. They have problems...and they solve them, like anybody else."
"Super important" for both Gomez and Bieber while they were dating was having a sense of normalcy: "which was great...That's how it should be. To make it as normal as possible - in such an abnormal lifestyle."
She admitted though that dating someout not with a similar lifestyle is more difficult than dating a celebrity.
"I've dated people that are not in the industry, and it does get really hard and stressful," she said. "My first boyfriend wasn't, and it all sort of started happening, so I felt bad."
Despite breaking up with Bieber, reportedly right after they vacationed together in Mexico days beofre ringing in the New Year's, Gomez is still an optimist when it comes to love. She said, "I believe in love-yes, I'm one of those girls."
She added that her friend Katy Perry has made it possible for her to think of love later on in life as well.
"She's so fun and awesome, but it's cool to see someone older believe in love, too," Gomez said. "She is all about it, and that's how I will always be. I believe in stories like, 'Oh, I met him in Starbucks.' "
