Michael Jordan is getting married to Cuban-American model Yvette Prieto.

The former NBA legend and Charlotte Bobcats owner and his fiancée appeared at a Palm Beach county courthouse Thursday to apply for a marriage license, according to Kathy Burstein, a spokesman for the clerk's office.

It is mandated that applicants seeking for marriage lesson must apply in person and a license is good for 60 days.

TMZ reported that Jordan and Prieto are set to wed on April 27.

Jordan got engaged to Prieto, in December 2011. The pair began dating in 2008 and live together in a modest three bedroom home in Miami.

This will be Jordan's second marriage. He married Juanita Vanoy in September 1989, and they divorced in 2006. They have two sons, Jeffrey Michael and Marcus James, and a daughter, Jasmine.

The end of the then-couple's 17-year-marriage resulted in the most expensive divorce in history, costing him over $150 million in the settlement.

According to Fox News, Prieto has modeled for top notch designers such as Alexander Wang. Before launching her modeling career, she worked in her father's business. She is reported to have attended college for business management.

The model once dated Enrique Iglesias' older brother, Julio Iglesias Jr. When asked about Prieto in 2003, Julio said, "She's a fantastic girl and I like her. Aside from her beauty, which is obvious, she is loving, simple and a very good person."

Fox also reported Prieto filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2002.

In other basketball news, reports surfaced that Lebron James will wed his fiancée, Savannah Brinson in September.

According to a document obtained by TMZ, the couple will wed sometime between Sept. 13 and Sept. 15

The invite, obtained by the gossip website, includes the title "Save The Date" consisting of information that instructed guests to keep the three days open for the celebration set to take place in San Diego, Calif.
