George Clooney has broken up with his girlfriend, Stacy Keibler. Clooney, 51, and Keibler, 33, parted ways because the former WWE star was ready to take the relationship to the next level and start a family.

"They knew it was never going to end in marriage or babies and Stacy does want kids and a husband in the next few years," a source told the Sun.

The source added that Clooney gave the Dancing With The Stars alum an apartment and a "boat load of jewelry."

The couple had been slowly growing apart because "they have little in common" a source told Us Weekly . The source added that "she likes to go out and have fun. She's been feeling the age difference." 

Another insider revealed in October that the pair were "barely talking" and "George is being really distant and pulling away from her" in October.

The couple had been dating for less than two years - they began seeing each other in July, 2011.

Clooney and Keibler were last seen together in public when they attended the 85th Academy Awards on Feb. 24.

Clooney and Ben Affleck won an Oscar that night for Best Picture. 

Clooney showed off Keibler on the red carpet. He told ABC outside of the Dolby Theater that he had "sewed most of the sequins" to Keibler 's dress. 

The Argo producer is currently in Germany filming a movie.
