Lindsay Vonn went public via Facebook about her relationship with professional golfer Tiger Woods on Monday but perhaps she was not ready to face his ex-wife.

Vonn, 28, reportedly waited in the car as Woods watched his 5-year-old daughter Sam's soccer game in Jupiter, Fla., that Nordegren was also at, according to E! News. Woods, 37, sat on one end of the bleachers while Nordegren, 33, sat on the other.

Vonn wrote on Facebook that she and Woods have evolved from friends to lovers.

"I guess it wasn't a well-kept secret but yes, I am dating Tiger Woods. Our relationship evolved from a friendship into something more over these past few months and it has made me very happy," she wrote.

Woods also confirmed their relationship by uploading photos of the couple together onto his website and posting, "We thank you for your support and for respecting our privacy. We want to continue our relationship, privately, as an ordinary couple and continue to compete as athletes."

Woods is a golfing 14-time major winner and Vonn is an Olympic and World Cup downhill ski champion. She is recovering from right knee surgery after a Feb. 5 skiing accident and her divorce from Thomas Vonn after more than four years of marriage became official in January, according to The Associated Press. They separated in 2011 but Lindsey decided to keep Vonn as her last name after the divorce.

Wood's marriage of five years to Nordegren ended in 2010 after news surfaced of his multiple extramarital affairs. Their divorce became official in August of that year and they share custody of their two children.
