Following reports that Justin Bieber is in the middle of an LAPD battery investigation, a source told Fox News the Boyfriend singer is determined to change his wild ways.

The 19-year-old is being investigated in connection to an alleged altercation with a Calabasa, Calif., neighbor of his, who on Tuesday said Bieber threatened him and spat at him. Bieber also upset other neighbors by having loud parties at his home. Steve Whitmore, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, confirmed that the situation remains under investigation. No arrests have been made as of yet.

As a result of all the controversy he is involved, which recently included a fight with a photographer in London, Bieber is set to change his ways.

"Justin knows he's done some not-so-smart things and he especially needs to clean up his driving," the insider said. "He's young, and when provoked, he reacts. But he knows this, and is determined not to become a Hollywood mess and he's taking all the right steps to stay out of trouble. He's building a good team around him and getting the right help."

Bieber said in a recent interview with Us Weekly "the biggest misconception about me is I'm a bad person. I get upset about that." He told the publication he has "a big heart" and that he hopes to be a good role model, though he added "but some people want me to fail."

In the same interview he cleared up rumors regarding his hospitalization following a London concert on March 7 and him walking shirtless into a London hotel. He added that he is not perfect and because he is young "I make mistakes. That's part of growing up."

Bieber is scheduled to perform in Austria on March 30 and he will be in traveling throughout Germany from April 2 to 6. He ends his Believe tour in August.
