The top seeded Baylor Lady Bears with their star player Brittney Griner suffered a close loss to the Louisville Cardinals on Sunday, and NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III tweeted about the loss to defend the reigning champs.

The Washington Redskin is a Baylor alum and noted in his tweets that Griner and the rest of the Lady Bears fell victim to serious aggression from the Cardinals Sunday. Louisville won 82-81.

He tweeted, "Yes people Louisville hit the 3 ball all night. But for every 3 they made, they threw 6 elbows, 5 straight lefts, 4 right hooks... 3 roundhouse kicks, 2 jumping knees, & 1 superman punch at B. Griner's abdominals. Aiming for her face but couldn't reach."

RGIII even called out a Louisville player that he described mean-mugged Griner. In another tweet he wrote, "No hate on this end people Louisville won & will live to play another game ‪#Props but that doesn't mean I have to like how it went down."

He also defended Griner, who he claims has been made fun of since the loss. "Despite all the man jokes BG is not SHAQ! She is a 6'8 WOMAN! & the REFS! OH MY...NCAA may find a way to fine me if I bring them up," he tweeted.

After the game on Sunday, Baylor coach Kim Mulkey also commented on the referees of the game. She said according to ESPN, "I thought the game started out way too physical, way too physical. I thought that all three of [the officials], if they go past this round of officiating, it will be sad for the game."
