It has been more than a month since we lost Prince but it’s clear his musical legacy will live on for quite a while as he has set a new record even after his shocking death.

Prince, who was found unconscious in the elevator of studio in his Paisley Park estate, has made history once again as he currently holds the record for the highest number of positions held on the Billboard 200 in one week alone, Forbes reported Monday.

He now has 19 positions on the highly coveted chart for the week of May 14th of this year. In fact, he is just one away from controlling 10 percent of the entire chart. Before Prince, it was the Beatles who held down the chart the most at one point when they had 13 albums on it at the same time.
Interestingly enough, Prince still did not reach the number one spot for long. His album The Very best Of Prince took over the week before, but it was Beyonce’s Lemoande who gained the top spot as she released the project just two days after his passing. Still, Prince did make it to the top ten.

As for Prince’s 19 albums that made the Billboard 200 chart at one time, it included The Very Best of Prince which was number 2, the Purple Rain Soundtrack which is just behind it at number 3. The Hits/The B-Sides landed at number 4 while another fan favorite 1999 was number 7. Sign ‘O’ The Times, Around The World In A Day and Controversy also made the chart.
