Jenelle Evans and David Eason were seen together on the red carpet at Sunday night's Video Music Awards, but when it came time for the show to begin, they were no where in sight.

As the MTV awards show the Teen Mom 2 star, Evans took to SnapChat where she shockingly revealed that she and Eason had returned to their hotel room and hinted that MTV knows why she did not stay for the show.

"They know why... @MTV," Evans captioned one of her posts, which included a photo of the awards show airing on her hotel television.

According to Real Mr. Housewife, Evans later deleted the post and replaced it with a second photo of her hotel television, which included the caption, "Thanks for inviting me MTV. I decided to watch from my hotel."

Evans also included a sad-faced emoji in her caption.

While Evans never said why she decided to watch the event from her hotel after walking the red carpet with Eason, she denied being kicked out of the show and a second report suggested that Eason simply didn't have a ticket. Instead, Evans' mother, Barbara, was included on the guest list but chose not to attend.

On Instagram, Barbara seemingly confirmed the news, telling fans, via Real Mr. Housewife, "At Oak Island Beach... Jace riding waves... Should be in NYC for VMAs but stayed home with Jace... Maybe next year."
