Selena Gomez Songs: Is She Working On A New Album? [VIDEO]

Is a new Selena Gomez album coming soon?

Although the singer announced a career hiatus just weeks ago, a new report suggests the 24-year-old singer is currently writing new songs.

“Selena [Gomez] is an artist by nature and the only way she knows how to handle her depression is by channeling it into something creative,” a source told Hollywood Life on Sunday. “One of her doctors suggested that she keep a journal and she’s finding a lot of what she’s written will make for great songs, but it will be more singer/songwriter type stuff, as opposed to the pop stuff she’s known for.”

Following her announcement of her career break, Gomez was spotted for the first time at a Texas Roadhouse restaurant in Alcoa, Tenn. on Oct. 8. Shortly thereafter, photos of the singer began to surface on Twitter.

“She enjoyed herself and was there for a late lunch,” an eyewitness told E! News. “She couldn’t have been more gracious to everyone and to the fans and was more than happy to take pictures with whoever.”
