The fever of the crossover fighting stunner Marvel vs. Capcom has been quite high for quite a long now. And to fuel this fever to another level of excitement is on its way to thrill its fans.The long-awaited follow-up of the Marvel vs. Capcom series: Marvel vs. Capcom 4 is currently on the tables for development and it is supposed to be released by the first quarter of 2017.

According to Polygon,  Marvel vs. Capcom 4 is said to be surfaced in PlayStation Experience event which is scheduled to take place on December 3 to 4. That announcement would coincide with the tournament for another Capcom fighting game, Street Fighter V.

Marvel vs. Capcom 4's roster of Marvel characters is expected to be drawn strongly from the cinematic universe that Marvel Studios has popularised and on which they have full control over during the past decade. However, not much information has been provided by the authorities' end.

As per a revelation by Gamespot, X-Men may not be seen as the core character of this series. The report further hinted that both Ant-Man and Groot may be identified as characters in this part. While the avatar of Wolverine or Magneto may be sacrificed in this season.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds is the last available version of this series till now. It was released in the first phase of 2011 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles. An updated version of the same named as Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, was unveiled just a few months later.

It is noted in this context that, Capcom's contract with Marvel for the superlative action saga series has expired in 2013. Therefore, since then there was no update seen in the third lineup of Marvel vs. Capcom. So, with the upcoming fourth edition, this enormous crossover flagship is expected to see a high time of appreciation from its fans' end.
