Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson want to take up more artistic movies after Fifty Shades Darker.

The image of Fifty Shades franchise is too strong to be shed for the lead stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson. But the two are doing their best to get away from the shadow of the erotic drama and make themselves known as performers. They have taken up art films and Dornan's controversial scene in his BBC TV series has also been cleared.

It looks like both Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson want to pursue more artistically sound movies, reports Inquisitr. Johnson has got two such movies in her kitty. Her upcoming projects include Indie films namely The Sound of Metal and Suspiria. Since she comes from a film family, there also seems to be somewhat pressure on the actress to prove herself.

For those who do not know, her mother Melanie Griffith and grandmother Tippi Hedren, both were actresses and even her father Don Johnson was an actor. In fact, Griffith recently made a comment about her Hollywood legacy. In an interview with Vanity Fair, she said that her three generations just made her think about her mom, herself and Dakota and she feels that the progression has been beautiful.

As far as Dornan goes, he has made an impact with his complex role of a serial killer Paul Spector in the BBC TV show The Fall. What is more, Ofcom has cleared the network of any wrong doing in relation to Paul's suicide scene in the finale, reports Belfast Live. Notably, the finale showed Paul kill himself by suffocation. The scene was thought to be pretty grim and led to complaints from viewers who found it too violent.

Subsequently, an inquiry was launched by the TV regulator and their investigation report says that the series was not in breach of Ofcom's rules, codes, license conditions or other regulatory requirements. According to their spokesperson, they investigated whether the depiction of suicide complied with their rules and concluded that it was justified by the overall context.

Well, this is great news for Jamie Dornan and would certainly motivate him to take up more challenging roles. Dakota Johnson is also on the same way and given that Fifty Shades Darker trailer has received a whopping number of views and rave reviews, it does seem both can look forward to success in the coming times.
