George Michael's boyfriend is now speaking out about finding him lifeless on Christmas morning.

Michael died of heart failure on Sunday, passing away "peacefully," according to the rock star's publicist. The singer's boyfriend, Fadi Fawaz, was the one who first discovered him in the morning and he is now sharing the shattering details with the public.

"We were supposed to be going for Christmas lunch. I went around there to wake him up and he was just gone, lying peacefully in bed," Fawaz explained to The Daily Telegraph.

Fawaz, a celebrity hairstylist, added that "everything had been very complicated" as of late, though Michael was ultimately "looking forward to Christmas, and so was I."

He noted that, "now everything is ruined. I want people to remember him the way he was. He was a beautiful person."

Fawaz also shared a heartbreaking message on his Twitter account, saying he will always miss Michael:

Michael's family announced through his publicist that the Faith singer died on Christmas:

"It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period," the statement said.

"The family would ask that their privacy be respected at this difficult and emotional time. There will be no further comment at this stage."

Singers and musicians have been posting messages about Michael in the hours and days following the heartbreaking news, including close friend Elton John:
