Fans can get ready for the upgraded version of its Surface Pro 4 tablet - the Surface Pro 5, from Microsoft. It is a novel tablet that will most probably be released in March.

With speculations for some time that the Surface Pro 5 will release in Q1 2017, there are a number of rumours related to the device, even as the launch window of the tablet comes near.

The Redmond-based company had unveiled an update of the two-in-one Surface book hybrid in October 2016. Still, there had been no sign of the Surface Pro 5 at the time, according to Tech Times.

Now, there are a number of new rumors and whispers from the supply chains. As one user who uploaded it on YouTube (watch the video below) put it: "The device is every bit an improvement over last year's model, packing an Intel Skylake processor into a chassis that's even thinner."

Interesting Specifications

First of all, the Surface Pro 5 specs are interesting. It is to be driven by Intel's 7th Generation Kaby Lake processor. It will also get released in three versions - the Core M (dual core), Core i5 (dual-core with two threads), and Core i7 (quad-core with eight threads).

Hence, the tablet would automatically gain higher processing speeds and a more lasting battery life. It will also offer an improved cinematic experience. There would be the installation of a 12.5-inch 4K screen, with 3D support at 60fps by Microsoft. It could even ditch the Super AMOLED screens and opt for an IPS touch one.

A USB Type-C port, version 3.1 with Thunderbolt is part of the device. There have been some hints of two types of versions of storage for the Surface Pro 5. They are the 16 GB and 32 GB.

This Surface 5 Pro will most probably support 512GB to 1TB storage SSD. The running will be on the Windows 10 Redmond 3 version. Watch out also for exciting, upgraded camera, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity of the Surface Pro 5.

New Features

The Surface Pro 5 is expected to disclose an improved Surface Pen. Its stylus would reveal a rechargeable battery that could show the capacity to charge wirelessly by docking the stylus into the tablet.

Other features that would be part of the device would be a trackpad and fingerprint scanner.

Release planning and pricing

Pegatron Technology is most probably the manufacturer, says a leak from a Chinese website. It says that Microsoft has given the manufacturing contract to Pegatron, which also makes Surface Studio, according to PC Advisor. The starting price of The Surface Pro 5 is likely to be $899 for only the base model, while the announcement will be made on March.

But fans can be cautious about one glitch: The Kaby Lake processor might be available only after H2 2017. Hence, the release of the Surface Pro 5 tablet might really get postponed.
