They found love on the set of The Voice during season nine after going through very public divorces, but their first on-screen reunion during the show's upcoming twelfth season as a couple is making Blake Shelton a little nervous about Gwen Stefani's return to the show.

In an interview with CMT's Cody Alan about his new business venture with Ole Red Bars and clubs, Shelton also opened up about his more than one-year-long relationship with Stefani, who is coming back to coach The Voice in the upcoming season alongside her beau, Adam Levine and Alicia Keys. And though Shelton has the most wins of any coach in the show's history with five and should be going in with extreme confidence, he admitted that both he and Stefani have struggled with how to handle their relationship while on the show.

"We were both nervous about it. [We wondered], 'How is this going to work?" Shelton said.

However. He also admitted that they both felt it would also add a new kind of competitive nature to the show as well, and it gives the show something else fresh to handle.

"But it brings a new level of competition to the show. Just when you think 12 seasons in it kind of is what it is, it's not anymore. With her and I in this relationship, it's so exciting! It truly is!" He said.

The couple's romance first went public in November of 2015, a few months after each announced respective divorces. Shelton and Miranda Lambert announced their divorce after 4 years of marriage in July, and STefani announced her divorce from Gavin Rossdale after 13 years a few weeks later. Both also later released albums dedicated to their breakups and finding new love with one another.
